Summit High School Athletics and Activities Overview

PHILOSOPHY OF THE SUMMIT HIGH ACTIVITIES PROGRAM

Activities are a mean for personal growth.  They teach, reinforce and refine the attributes necessary for success in life.  Summit High School invites all students to be actively involved in their school, community and in creating opportunity for themselves.  It is the attitude,
personal dedication, advance preparation and desire that make any program successful.

All members of the Summit High School athletic and activities departments are dedicated to excellence. Integrity, commitment and leadership are the cornerstones upon which we build our successes.  We are more successful because we are able to learn from failure and then reach beyond our past limitations.  Each individual must support and motivate their peers…and inspire excellence in others.

SUMMIT TIGER EXPECTATIONS

* Students who report for a team/activity are making a commitment to their teammates,

coach, school, and community.  Commitments must be honored to continue membership

    status within the group.

* Students will improve their skills and level of conditioning on their own time as well as in

practices.  This includes pre-season conditioning and summer training.  Report for your

sport in condition with the proper equipment.

* Academics are the priority.  Athletic/Activity participation is a privilege of academic

    standing.

* The student is responsible to plan ahead, work ahead, maintain open lines of

communication with teachers, make up work immediately after missing a class, being

punctual to classes and excellent school attendance, behavior and achievement.

* Athletic/Activity practices and contests are scheduled on days off from school.

Student will attend all team/group functions.
